The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has announced significant traffic changes concerning the I-90 and Highway 41 interchange beginning March 2025.
For Chorale members traveling to Peace Lutheran from the south and east:
Beginning March 3, the I-90 westbound off-ramp to Highway 41 will be closed until fall 2025. Traffic will be detoured to the Seltice Way interchange at Exit 6. A temporary signal has been installed at Seltice Way to manage the detoured traffic. It is recommended that chorale members avoid or exit I-90 westbound early in CdA for travel to Peace Lutheran from the Coeur d'Alene area. Alternate routes include Seltice -> Huetter -> Prairie or Seltice -> Atlas -> Prairie if traveling from southern US-95/downtown CdA, or exit NW Blvd -> Ramsey -> Prairie if traveling from the Fernan/Kellogg regions.
The on-ramp from Highway 41 to I-90 eastbound will also be closed overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and so will be unavailable when returning home from Chorale practices beginning in March and continuing through mid-March. Possible detours are: west on Seltice Way to the eastbound Exit 6 on-ramp, or east to Huetter -> Seltice -> NW Blvd on ramp, or directly east on Prairie -> US 95 southbound.
Chorale members arriving from the west and north should not be affected by the above closures, but may be affected by the following:
Highway 41 under I-90 will close in March until mid-April, with traffic diverted to the Greensferry Road overpass while crews deconstruct a temporary bridge and work on utilities.
Alternate bypass routes include Huetter, Atlas, and Ramsey.
Central Avenue will also close from early March through fall 2025, ITD said.
There will be overnight single-lane closures for both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-90 throughout the work zone from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., March 3 through mid-April.
Additional changes to the westbound on-ramp at Highway 41 are expected later this spring, according to ITD.
The entire ramp and Single Point Urban Interchange construction project is expected to be completed in 2026.
